Biography

Md. Toufiqul Islam is a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at the World University of Bangladesh. He obtained his B.Pharm and M.Pharm degrees from Jagannath University with distinction. His research focuses on medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, computational drug discovery, and phytochemistry. His work integrates the synthesis of bioactive compounds, molecular docking, ADMET prediction, and biological evaluation to discover potential therapeutic agents against infectious and inflammatory diseases. He is actively engaged in research, teaching, and mentoring undergraduate pharmacy students while contributing to scientific publications and collaborative research projects. Mr. Islam has authored and co-authored several peer- reviewed publications in international journals and has presented his research at international scientific conferences. His work has been recognized with the National Science and Technology Fellowship and a University Merit Award for outstanding academic performance.

He also worked as a Research Fellow in the Department of Pharmacy at Jagannath University. He also gained research experience through a University Grants Commission (UGC)-funded project on the synthesis and biological evaluation of novel antimicrobial compounds.
