Q. Why we chose WUB for Pharmacy Education?

Department of Pharmacy, WUB is one of the best department in the University. We try to provide best and quality pharmacy education at affordable cost which makes our graduate to compete in the job market. Q. What are the laboratory facilities in the department?

Pharmacy is a laboratory dependent discipline. Laboratory based practical pharmacy education along with theoretical knowledge is the prime aspect of the department. We have 6 modern laboratory with modern sophisticated and intricate equipments which make our graduate able to acquire best pharmacy knowledge.

Q. What are the scholarship facilities in the department?

WUB is committed to provide quality pharmacy education at minimal cost for the economic emancipation. Or this instance, WUB offers scholarship facilities to the students. Scholarship is provided based on the semester result. Students get scholarship/ tuition fee waiver.

Q. What are the job opportunities for pharmacy graduates?

A pharmacist can involve in numerous fields. He /She may get job in the different departments of pharmaceutical industry such as Production, Quality control, Quality Assurance, Packaging, Warehouse, Product management Department, Marketing & sales. Establishment of Hospital and community pharmacy will open the new horizon for pharmacist. A graduate with excellent academic record can get job in educational institutions having pharmacy program.

Q. What are the research facilities in the department?

Research is the backbone of pharmacy study. Pharmacy department, WUB always committed to enhance its efforts to engage in the research fields. Every year a number of research articles are published in the national and international journals.

Q. What Co-Curricular and extracurricular programs are arranged in the department?

Department of Pharmacy, WUB is liable to develop cultural spirit among the students. As part of this, we arrange different co-curricular and extracurricular programs. PithaUthsob, Chaitra SangkrantiMela, fruit Festival etc. are arranged regularly. Different sport events are integral part of the extracurricular activities. Seminar, discussion, symposium are arranges as part of co-curricular activities.

Q. How many semesters are required to complete 4 years Bachelor of Pharmacy in World University of Bangladesh?

Total 8 semesters (6 months each) are required to complete 4 years Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) in World University of Bangladesh.

Q. What are the general requirements to apply in Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) in World University of Bangladesh?

Total GPA of 6.5 in S.S.C and H.S.C and not less than GPA 2.5 in any individual subject/course in both S.S.C and H.S.C are required to apply in Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) in World University of Bangladesh.

Yes, WUB accepts credits completed from other educational institutions.

Q. What are the roles of Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh?

The Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh (PCB) is an Autonomous Organization under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh (PCB) is an Autonomous Organization that can provide scope for the graduate pharmacists. The council can be considered as the controlling authority of pharmacy education and practice.

The Main objective of the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh is to regulate the practice of Pharmacy throughout Bangladesh. Other activities include approval of examinations in Pharmacy for the purpose of qualifying persons for registration as pharmacists, recognition of degree or diploma in Pharmacy for the purpose of registration as pharmacist etc.

Q. What are the roles of University Grants Commission?

The major responsibilities entrusted to the UGC are to receive funds from the Government and allocate and disburse those funds to the Public Universities for their maintenance and development. Besides, the Private University Act 2010 has provided the UGC with the authority to supervise, monitor and regulate the activities of the Private Universities in Bangladesh. As a result, the UGC has been empowered with the legal authority to advise, supervise and regulate higher education at Private Universities in Bangladesh. The universities of Bangladesh do not act directly with the Government. They communicate with the UGC which acts as a spokesman for the universities and plays a pivotal role in presenting the problems and demands of the universities to the Government.

Q. Is there any evening program for Bachelor of Pharmacy?

Currently there is no evening program for Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) in WUB.

Q. Are there any hostel facilities available at World University of Bangladesh?

Currently there is no hostel facility available at World University of Bangladesh. But new hostels for both male and female students are under construction.

Q. Is there any post for pharmacists in BCS?

No, there is no post for pharmacists in BCS.

Q. Is there any Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm.) program available at World University of Bangladesh?

No, there is no Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm.) program available at World University of Bangladesh.
